This was one of the finds. It is an old school. I'm talking before any electricity or indoor plumbing. No furnace or phone. Here are some photos to share.
This is what the school looks like from the road. I was so happy I was able to get to it.
What struck me was how the term one-room school really did fit.
You can even see where the blackboard was.
The damage that has been done is just wrong to me but it gives the feeling there was real life in there.
One of the most fascinating parts of the building was the fact that the tin ceiling was almost completely intact. That was amazing!
I can just picture all the children who passed through that entry.

Great shots. When I was in school, maybe elementry, we visited this old time villiage where there was an old school house. They try to keep it up so it was in better condition than this one here but they are really just 1 room. Great shots, I love the last one where the leaves are in color & the school house is black & white:-)
I can not even comprehend what it was like going to school in schools like that. or having to go to the outhouse to pee. yikes
