Old School

One of the things I love to do is photograph old buildings. The architecture is always interesting to me. Even when you know they just had to be "like the other guy". Last week I had the opportunity to do some sightseeing around the area I grew up in. It was a great couple of days.

This was one of the finds. It is an old school. I'm talking before any electricity or indoor plumbing. No furnace or phone. Here are some photos to share.

This is what the school looks like from the road. I was so happy I was able to get to it.

What struck me was how the term one-room school really did fit.

You can even see where the blackboard was.

The damage that has been done is just wrong to me but it gives the feeling there was real life in there.

One of the most fascinating parts of the building was the fact that the tin ceiling was almost completely intact. That was amazing!

I can just picture all the children who passed through that entry.
