I Have Stalled

Yes, I have. I am no longer growing as a blog and have even lost readers. Why is that? Let’s examine why this may be the case.

There may be some correlation with the fact that my time to read and join other blogs has been seriously cut into since about a year ago. Maybe it’s because I’ve lost my writing bug. Right now it’s all about the photos. Which means I’m doing mostly photo hops.

What do you do when you run into writer’s block? I’ve tried to use prompts much like I do with the photo hops I join. It just doesn’t seem to work. I try to write about something I see on the news. No dice! I’ve tried to use some Facebook posts to get ideas. Same thing.

Should I stop blogging about anything except photography? No I don’t think that is the answer. I’m thinking that it will turn around soon. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

  1. I have had my blog for almost 2 years. I have struggled as well on those days when I thought, what to write. I have deleted so many good posts simply because "I wasn't in the mood" for that topic. One thing I learned is that you need to write from the heart. If your heart says do a photo post, then do a photo post. I for one love your photos. I would like to hear more stories about the photos and how they came to be. Whatever you write about you will always have some that love it and some that don't. Just do what feels right for you.

  2. I for one would be really sad if you stopped blogging. And I agree with Bluzdude. You need to write about things that are you. I love your photo's and the inspiration that you have given me. I love it when you post about things that are troubling your soul. That is real life. And I know that photography puts you in a well needed happy place right now. Hang in there. I love you. (but not in a sexual way so don't fret)

  3. I have felt the same way and just really haven't had the desire to write for a while. But I feel that my writing woes are about over and I'm ready to turn a new corner. Following and Reading and joining Photo hops and challenges is a good time. Don't stop doing either. Just take it one day at a time and be happy with whatever creative way of the day is working. It's all Good!
