Now don’t let yourself go to the gutter. Shame on you! I’m talking about books. Not porn or erotic thrillers. Again, get your mind out of the gutters! I’m talking the best writers of our time. You know, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, James Rollins, and Clive Cussler. Yes, action, adventure, and the paranormal. Well, sort of paranormal. But “Odd Thomas” was great book.
Anyway, back to my original thought. You really shouldn’t distract me. And, yes, you did. I had to clarify for you which means distraction. See it’s happening again. Let me start again.
I have been a Stephen King fan since shortly after high school. His book, “The Stand” is in my top five of all time. If you haven’t read it, you should. For those of you who are unable to handle foul language don’t bother. What you will miss though is the ultimate tale of good versus evil. It even brings God and Satan into the fray. Trust me when I say it is one fantastic ride.
As for Dean Koontz……who can beat Odd Thomas as a great character? He has been so well received that Koontz has written three more books about him. That’s quite a feat considering he has NEVER brought a character back until Odd. Definitely worth a look.
James Rollins plays right into the whole what is possible regarding nature and things that we still have to discover. He also plays into the damage man can do when trying to play God. He keeps my attention from the very first page.
Now we come to Clive Cussler. What a rush it is to read his books. I absolutely will scrimp and save to get his books as soon as they come out. I just can’t wait. And I’m behind in my reading because of the job situation for the last six months. But I still have to buy the books. I’m going to read them, really I will.
Now don't think I've forgotten the classics. "To Kill a Mockingbird" and "Jane Eyre" are some of the greatest stories ever told. We're just talking about my weakness. Get with the program!
Now that I’ve told you my little secret I guess you think you know me. I hate to tell you this but I have a few other secrets too. I might reveal them and then again, I might not. You don’t have to know everything.
