Normally on Sunday one can count on the fact that the paper will have a decent amount of jobs listed. Not for several months. I found a total of four, yes four, listings that I can even begin to qualify for. I think it’s going to be a long haul. I just hope my unemployment will come through in a couple of weeks. The lady at the unemployment office thought that maybe it would as soon as the quarter rolls over. After looking at available jobs in the paper, I hope she's right.
I was able to take a ride on the boat today, but it wasn’t a great day for photos. Sometimes there is too much light and no matter what filters you have on your lens, it will not tone down or stop washing out. Such was my luck today.
Today was a really nice day in terms of temps and wind. Not much of either. In fact, it was about as close to perfect as you can get with the exception of the water levels though. It seems we may have another high water year. That means boating will not be fun. Last year was the same way. When the water is really high, there are no sandbars to speak of and around here, that’s the way to go.
What struck me today was how much fun Amanda would have had on the boat. She was the kid who would giggle until she couldn’t breathe just because of the bumpiness of the ride. When we lived in Colorado and Wyoming, we would be on some back roads only for four wheel drives fairly regularly. We would hit the washboards on some of those roads and she would just giggle. Pretty soon we would have to tell her to breathe because she couldn’t stop.
There are just days when she stays in the front of my mind.
