I know. I found another photo hop. My new friend over at Twisted Fate Photography does a challenge each week. Just head on over every Saturday and link up. I know you'll have fun.

And I know this isn't exactly a bench, but it is a park and these were stacked for the winter. They are still used for sitting on. There is just a bonus. You can also eat at a table when you do.

I'm Almost Done!!!

I know you all have been absolutely dying to find out about my internship woes. Well I have some news. I’m almost done!!! That means no more rude girls.

My internship supervisor had been gone for a few days which left me to the mercy of the “Petty Girls”. And are they ever petty. It’s so bad that one of them lied to the office manager about me in front of me. Yes, you read correctly.

You see, I’ve tried to do things around the office but every time I tried, Petty Girl 1 would stop me. As an example, I would move toward the computer so I could schedule someone while she was on the phone and she would put up her finger. And, no, it is not the middle one. I’m talking the index finger that says, “Stop, do not proceed. “ This happened the whole time my internship supervisor was gone. The only things they would ever let me do are file, copy, and clean. I may not have the cleanest home but I don’t think I need to learn how to clean. And let’s not forget the fact that I can’t file correctly. I don’t know my abc’s.

So I’m sitting in the office with my supervisor and in walks Petty Girl 1. She offers to let me sit with her so I can learn what she’s doing. Then came the lie. These are the exact words. “I offered to let her sit with me but she said she wasn’t comfortable with it”. And I’m sitting right there. Does that give you an idea of what I’ve been dealing with?

The good thing is that after next Wednesday I will not have to deal with her ever again. So I’m counting the hours until it is over. Then I’m free!!!

Fawk You Friday!

Ok. Who is ready for some fun? I know I am. Now, let's go over this again. For those of you who are worried about the button, J, at Boobies, Babies, & A Blog, and I, are just fine with using one of ours. I don't know how else to tell everyone that we do not have a problem with that. We just want people to join and vent. Just have some fun!!! How hard is that? My list is short and sweet.

Sorry this is so late. I woke up this morning and realized it is Friday. Needless to say I was not prepared and am trying to squeeze this in so you all can vent. And can you imagine? J has mono!!! Yes, the kissing disease!!! I wonder what she's been up to lately.

My list is short, but its a big one.

Fawk You to the girls I have to deal with at the internship. Talk about petty, childish, and just downright nasty people. HOW DARE YOU TALK DOWN TO ME!!! HOW DARE YOU LIE TO MY SUPERVISOR WHILE I'M SITTING RIGHT THERE!!! GROW UP AND REALIZE LIFE IS NOT ALL ABOUT YOU!!! SERIOUSLY!!!

Fawk You once again to my schedule. I LOST TRACK OF WHAT DAY IT IS! THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE DAYS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!

And, of course, to cancer. YOU KNOW WHY!!!

Okay let's hear your vents, rants, and general grumblings about life, other people, and whatever irritates you. Come on! Let the fawks fly!!!

I Don't Understand

I just don’t understand some people. I don’t understand how they think or how they justify their actions to themselves. And there are only four people in my life who have risen to the level of “special circumstance”. These are the people I will probably never get past what they said or did.

The first is someone I just can’t stand to be around. He pretends to others he’s this great guy and actually thinks that people are in awe of him. He just doesn’t know what they say behind his back. He goes to church every week but will weasel every dime out of you every chance he gets. I have no time or energy to deal with him and yet I have to once in a while.

The next two have never accepted me into the family. Ever. I have never been good enough to be part of their family from day one. During a major medical crisis, it was made clear to me that they were more important than I was even though I was closer to the person at the time than they were. The problem is that I was treated like a pariah even though I should have been included.

The last person on this list just does not like me. According to her I am this horrible person who causes her all these problems. She has also accused me of using the loss of my daughter to gain sympathy. I won’t even address the issue of being a bad person. Outside of these four people, other people generally like me. Enough said.

About the loss of my daughter… Before my daughter passed away, I stayed home most of the time and took care of the family. After her loss, I lost my way for a short time. Since then, I have gone back to work, started school and am currently not able to turn around or meet myself coming and going. This means I am more involved and more motivated than I have been in years. Telling someone the loss of her should not have been as hard because it was expected is a horrible thing to say or imply.

I guess my problem is this. I don’t understand how people justify their actions and words toward others. What never ceases to amaze me is how it’s okay for them to treat others in a way they would never take themselves. And you can’t say anything to them because they do not have any problems. They are right no matter what. They can slam you as much as they want and you cannot say anything to them. They accept no responsibility for their actions and anything that happens must be someone else’s fault.

If someone can explain it, please do. How can everything be my fault? There is no way I can be wrong 100% of the time. I’m smart enough to know that.

Internships and What To Watch For

I am livid right now. And livid is the only word I can come up with that even closely resembles how much I’m feeling right now. Here’ the low down.

I know you all have been informed about the hours I’m trying to put in to finish my internship. Hence the lack of posts. I have been putting in some very long hours and days in before the deadline that is fast approaching. That means 12 hour days at least 3 days a week and 6 days a week it’s at least 10. This does not include the hours I need to spend on school work associated with the internship. Needless to say, it’s rather brutal.

Today I had to call my student advisor. Why, you ask? Let me tell you. The only things I’ve done for the internship are filing and cleaning. Did I tell you what I’m supposed to have for my Associate’s? I will have a Medical Office Administration degree. That means a business MANAGEMENT degree. Anyone can clean and anyone can file. Okay so an illiterate person could not. You know what I mean.

The first reason I am so incensed is that I am paying them for my internship. No I am not giving them money. I have student loans that I will have to pay back after I can finish school. So when I start to pay this back, part of it will be for my internship. That means roughly $25,000+ for a degree and I am cleaning.

The second reason is that I am not learning anything. An internship is required for a reason. It is to make sure the student has learned something from real world experience. Well all I’m doing is grunt work. And it’s just so they don’t have to work so hard. Thursday was a perfect example.

It was a very slow day. Not many patients came in. I went in at 9:30 and was there till 6:00. My list of things to do included vacuuming, pulling files, and putting files away. When I got there, the girl that was supposed to be working with me was online shopping. And, yes, she was excited about it. I know, because she told me all about it.

The morning progressed fairly slowly with me dusting and filing. Then I’m told lunch will be from 12-1 at which time I would not be able to stay there because no one would be there. Okay, so I can somewhat deal with that. Before we left though, I was informed I would be vacuuming when I came back. Nice, huh?

When I got back, the second girl showed up and immediately they decide they were leaving to go to the pawn shop because there were no patients until 2:30. The best time to work and train someone is when there isn’t a steady stream of patients. I know because I’ve trained people.

They just added insult to injury because at the end of the day, they complained about what they didn’t get done and they were scrambling to finish the work they had most of the day to finish. I did not feel one bit sorry for them. They brought it on themselves by screwing around all day and not doing what they were being paid for.

Did I tell you I called my student advisor? I think she may be as ticked off as I am. I’m not sure what is going to happen next. The office signed a contract to teach me for my internship and so far they have not fulfilled their part of the bargain. I’m killing myself trying to get this finished and this is what I get. I’m glad I called my advisor. She will be speaking to them as soon as they return her call. I’m not sure I would want to be on the receiving end of that call. She did not sound happy when I told her what was going on.

We’ll see what happens now. I’ll have to let you know.

Fawk You Friday!

I haven't had much time to do anything so this week has been bad. I'm hoping I'll have more time soon.

Ok. Who is ready for some fun? I know I am. Now, let's go over this again. Fawk You to my schedule. DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO FULL? SERIOUSLY TRY TO LIGHTEN UP A LITTLE!!!

Fawk You to the place who agreed to give me my internship. WHAT IS THERE ABOUT AN INTERNSHIP THAT WOULD SUGGEST IT MEANS I'M THERE TO CLEAN YOUR OFFICE?!!? REALLY?!!? THERE ARE TWO, COUNT THEM, TWO DOCTORS IN THIS OFFICE WHO SHOULD KNOW AN INTERNSHIP FOR A DEGREE DOES NOT INCLUDE CLEANING!!!

And, once again, Fawk You to cancer. ERADICATE YOURSELF AND GET THE FLYING FAWK OFF THIS PLANET!!!

There you have it. Now where are your Fawks? Let the fawks fly far and high. Come on! You know you want to.

Tuesday Train

Photobucket

Yes, it is time for the train to depart the station. Follow me and my co-host, This Little Family, for the ride of your life.

So apparently no one read my blog today, or yesterday if this is actually Tuesday. I'm looking for some help!!! I can't keep up with everything right now. So I'm looking for someone to jump in and help me with the Tuesday Train. Yes, you heard correctly. So I'm looking for someone to dive in and really step up. Are you the one who can help me? I'll be waiting for your response.

And don't forget about Boobies and the Follow Me Back Tuesday hop. She's also my co-host for Fawk You Friday. You should check that out too. . It's a great way to vent your frustrations. Since she's so awesome you should hop over there now. Cause I said to that's why!

BWS tips button

So link up and have some fun with both of us! Yeah, you heard me. Do it now cause I said so.

Time and Lack Thereof

My frustration level is high at the moment. I started my internship but all I have done so far is put away and file the physical files for the clients that come in. And don’t forget the cleaning. Yes, they’ve had me cleaning.

I really don’t have such a problem with that as much as the fact that all I’ve done is file or clean. It means I haven’t really been dealing with clients nor have I done much in the way of back office procedures. My degree will be Medical Office Administration so I need a little more of what the overall office is like. I hope they decide to let me do more soon.

On top of that, my schedule is getting to be a little more than I anticipated. I’m working 12 hours a day, 4 days a week. In addition, I have schoolwork that has to be done. Since I am doing a 45 hour internship instead of 135 hours because of work schedules, there are more school requirements for the degree. It just seems to pile.

Let’s not even talk about the house and the cleaning it needs. It’s a pig sty. Okay let’s not insult the pigs. Ridiculous!

Which brings me to my next challenge. I am running on empty and I still need to continue with the Tuesday Train. With all the very serious followers of the Train, I feel it is necessary to not "put it on vacation" but I'm sure you've noticed I'm not getting around to everyone right now. Since I feel that is part of the hop, I am failing to touch base with all of you who take the ride with us. Here's my solution.

I am on the hunt for someone to help with this. Someone else who can help with letting each and every one know that someone has looked at your post. This means reading each entry and commenting on those. It is time consuming but fun. I just don't seem to have the time recently to do the job the right way. If you want to be considered for the position of "3rd wheel" let me know either by email or comment. I look forward to seeing who is willing to jump in.

I have decided to not publish until 10:00PM again and will probably continue that until further notice. So start contacting me. I'm hiring.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

It's time for another edition of Scavenger Hunt Sunday with Ashley at Ramblings and Photos. I love this hop. It gives me an incentive to look at things a little differently. I just have fun with it and so should you.

Shadows

The sun coming through the window in my kitchen is exceptionally bright. Can you tell it's time for me to repaint?

Patterns/Repetition

There didn't seem to be any imagination to the decorations and the ceiling is most definitely in the pattern and repetition category.

Bright White

Looking up from my desk at work.

Strong

One from the archives and taken this past July. This is one side of Lock and Dam #7 on the Mississippi. You can't really see it in this photo, but this wall is massive.

General Consensus

After speaking and emailing with some of my bloggy buddies, I’ve come to the conclusion that most men are just jerks. Yes, you heard me. REMEMBER!!! I SAID MOST NOT ALL!!! So before I get the hate mail, hear me out.

Men just don’t get it. They are ruled by only their base instincts. It’s in the “genes”. They are genetically engineered to only think of #1 and their physical needs are as important as getting their toys.

Do I sound harsh? I suppose I do. I am tired of being crazy with all I have to do and getting no help at home. And I am not alone. Read the blogs! Do they math! Too many of us are writing about it.

That is enough ranting for now. I have nothing else.

February Music Hop

Update on the Tuesday Train!!!

Because of my new work schedule, the Train will not board until 10PM Central time. Sorry for the inconvenience this causes anyone but I need to be able to get home and ensure it is all good for the hop. So tonight, we start a couple of hours later. I'll see you then!

Music In My Life

My new buddy at Adventures in Estrogen is busting out February with a music theme. Every day she writes about a music experience she’s had in her life. While I don’t know that I could do an entire month, I will do a couple of posts about what it means to me. And I’ll throw in a couple of songs that have meaning. I know I did the soundtrack post, but that was more to do with how songs remind me of others. This reflects what I think and feel about life.

I don’t have specific moments where music played a huge part of the how I felt. Music has been part of my entire life. I’m the person with songs that mean something to them. You see, I started piano lessons when I was 6. To this day, the best piano I ever touched was the studio version that was in the church. In fact, the last time I stopped, it still had the richest sound and may even be better than when I first played it 40+ years ago.

Songs like “How Great Thou Art”, and “Silent Night” still move me. But it is not the meaning of the song so much as the music itself. I know this is an old cliché, but music truly moves me. A melody can either have me tapping my toes or move me to tears. A stirring rendition of the National Anthem can move me to tears. These are all songs that have beautiful melodies. Their messages are secondary. Then there are the songs that have messages for me.

My tastes range from classical to heavy metal. So get ready for some really strange combinations. This post only touches on country.

There are two songs that reflect what I want out of relationship. “You Are” by Jimmy Wayne, and “I Just Call You Mine” by Martina McBride. In both of these the message is accepting and appreciating your significant other for whom they are and the feelings are returned. Every time I hear these songs, I stop and listen to the words. They are becoming harder for me to hear.

So I’m leaving it at that. These songs make me sad and I don’t believe that was the intention.

Five Words I Despise

I work at a call center. The five words I despise hearing the most when a call comes in are, “I just got my bill”. It usually means I’m going to have a long call in front of me and it isn’t going to be easy. I have some pieces of information for those of you who really do call.

1. First and foremost….The person who answered the call did not print your bill.
2. Taxes, fees, and surcharges CANNOT be negotiated. They are government regulated.
3. If you have someone in the county jail or in prison and they are calling your house, the charges are not initiated by the company who services your house. That is if the bill you are referring to has to do with any type of phone service.
4. And last, but not least, going over and over the same, exact charge does not change it. It is still on the bill.

So how do you like them apples, folks? I know, I just had to throw that in. Remember these little tidbits the next time you call about your bill. I will be so proud of you.
