Don’t get me started on some of the inane things I have been seeing on tv these days. It’s really sad that people like Glenn Beck and Christina O’Donnell are making the big news stories lately. It’s mainly because they both preach discrimination. Yeah, you read me correctly. Don’t get your drawers all up in a bunch.
Let’s take Glenn Beck first, shall we? First, he reminds me too much of Rush Limbaugh and that’s enough right there to make me gag every time I see him. So you ask, “Why are you writing about him?” Because we need some sanity infused somewhere in this world or it will explode!
I refuse to discuss what he said about the First Daughters not being educated, but I will discuss the comments he had for Michelle Obama. We have a First Lady who is taking on the topic of obesity and how to combat this awful scourge in America by starting a vegetable garden on the White House lawn. She truly believes that we as a nation are overweight and it is contributing to the decline in our health. Who thinks this is incorrect? NOT ME!!! WE ARE AN OVERWEIGHT NATION AND IT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED!!! I am one of those who needs to change my eating habits so I believe it’s a great idea. I am not in denial. She wouldn’t be the first First Lady to come up with an idea that the nation gets behind. Does anyone remember “Just Say No”? That was Nancy Reagan’s baby. Yeah, the opposition.
So this time “Mr” Beck tells Ms. Obama to “Get away from my fries, Mrs. Obama”. He went on to say, "First politician that comes up to me with a carrot stick, I've got a place for it. And it's not in my tummy." I think he wants to keep everyone overweight so he might stand a chance of outrunning them when they try to beat him up for being a celebrity poser. He so craves the limelight that he even held the “Restoring Honor Rally” in which he claimed he didn’t know it was the anniversary of the famous “I Have A Dream” speech by the most honorable Martin Luther King Jr. And he claims to be an historian. Another nail in his coffin, don’t you think?
Then we have Christine O’Donnell, the Tea Party poster child. And if she’s a Wiccan, so be it. Don’t we have the right to worship as we choose in the country? (Oh yeah, I forgot. Not necessarily.) Apparently she can’t decide what religion she wants to follow because she started out as a Catholic, “dabbled” in witchcraft, and then turned Evangelical Christian. How did she win the primary in Delaware? Are we to believe the entire Republican party in Delaware has lost its mind? I am inclined to believe it.
So here’s what I want everyone in the Washington D. C. area to do because I won’t be able to. Go to Jon Stewart’s Rally To Restore Sanity and Stephen Colbert’s March To Keep Fear Alive on October 31st. I don’t care what age you are, just get there and support them! Let’s get those right wing wingnuts shaking in their shoes! Just do it!
